Avo Partners with the SCCT to Bring Guidelines to the Point-of-Care
NEW YORK, August 3, 2022
Avo, a next-generation application-based clinical decision support platform, is working with the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) to transform SCCT guidelines into actionable, instant guidance at the point-of-care. With support from Siemens Healthineers, the partnership will begin with the 2022 Coronary Artery Disease – Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS 2.0).
CAD-RADS 2.0 is an expert consensus document originally created to standardize the reporting system for patients undergoing coronary CT angiography (CCTA) and to guide possible next steps in patient management. The recent update of the 2016 version was a collaboration among SCCT, American College of Cardiology (ACC), American College of Radiology (ACR) and the North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging (NASCI).
Avo’s cloud-based solution, which will be accessible free of charge via websites, mobile apps and in electronic health records, supports and strengthens the ability of cardiologists and general physicians to provide critical services to patients of all ages. Provider organizations will have the ability to use Avo’s no-code content management tool to customize the offering for local needs.
Joanne Olson, chief executive officer of SCCT, commented, “SCCT is excited about the potential that a partnership with Avo provides. Making SCCT guidelines and expert consensus documents like CAD-RADS 2.0 instantly accessible in this way will help physicians administer higher quality care to their patients.”
Avo co-founder and CEO, Dr. Yair Saperstein commented: “We are thrilled to partner with the SCCT, the authority on cardiovascular CT imaging. Combining the SCCT’s clinical expertise with Avo’s decision support technology furthers our shared mission of equipping clinicians with the tools and expertise to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. We are excited to provide this offering to our growing base of health system customers and clinician users.”
