Avo Named a Fierce Healthcare Innovation Awards Winner in the Clinical Information Management Category
New York, NY, December 4th, 2024 – Today, Avo was named a Fierce Healthcare Innovation Awards winner in the Clinical Information Management category. The program showcases outstanding innovation that is driving improvements and transforming the industry.
“We are very proud to win the Fierce Healthcare Innovation Award which showcases Avo’s unique ability to centralize the latest medical information and transform it into actionable tools that help resolve clinician burnout and standardize care,” stated Dr. Joongheum Park (“PJ”), Chairman, Head of Product and Co-founder of Avo. “Unlike other clinical decision support tools, the Avo Platform is backed by our "no code" Builder, which means clinical informaticians and health systems can easily deploy, update and maintain their point-of-care tools, evidence, guidelines and protocols without requiring IT or engineering resources.”
Avo was built for clinicians, by clinicians. Dr. "PJ" Park, is a practicing board-certified internal medicine physician and clinical informatician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He was an internist and clinical informatics fellow at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center (“CUMC”) and was on the executive board of the National Association of Clinical Informatics Fellows. He is also a professional developer and envisioned Avo to solve needs from his own experience as a physician. Additionally, Dr. Park leads multiple clinical AI projects in collaboration with Columbia University, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Rutgers University, and the University of Pittsburgh. Avo's CEO and Co-Founder, Dr. Yair Saperstein, is a dual board-certified physician in internal medicine and clinical informatics. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) and is affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Saperstein served on the implementation team for multiple Epic go-lives, and was inpatient medicine Chief Resident at HHC's Kings County Hospital, leading over 400 providers through New York's first wave of COVID, realizing the gap between what providers want and what the clinical decision support market offered. Together, with their third co-founder and COO Laurence, they built Avo.
Avo’s platform simplifies everyday tasks like decision making, pre-charting, care planning, documentation, ordering, and more. Recently, Avo launched a first-of-its-kind AI consult tool that leverages evidence-based guidelines and patient data to answer complex clinical questions in the EHR. Additionally, Avo's Pathway tool allows health systems to turn their guidelines into actionable tools in and outside of the EHR. Lastly, Avo's Assistants take evidence and turn them into time saving tools for providers using the latest in AI technology.
“The Innovation Awards winners showcase the organizations that have demonstrated innovative solutions that have the greatest potential to save money, engage patients or revolutionize the healthcare industry,” says Rebecca Willumson, SVP and Publisher of Fierce Biotech and Fierce Pharma. “We are very pleased to congratulate the winners on their accomplishments.”
The expert panel of judges reviewed the hundreds of awards submissions and determined which companies demonstrated innovative technologies and services that have the potential to make the greatest impact for healthcare companies.
