Avo Expands Partnership with Children's Minnesota, After Successful Pilot to Enhance Patient Care
New York, February 23, 2022 – Children’s Minnesota, one of the largest pediatric health systems in the US, successfully integrated its care delivery with Avo, a next-gen app-based clinical decision support platform. Avo provides Children’s Minnesota’s clinicians immediate access to evidence-based clinical guidelines at the point-of-care. The clinical guidelines, or recommendations based on the latest science that are used by providers to help treat common conditions and achieve optimal patient outcomes, are developed by Children’s Minnesota’s clinical and academic leaders.
Following a successful pilot of Avo’s mobile app system from May to November 2021, more than 25 sets of evidence-based care guidelines are now available for Children’s Minnesota’s providers. Clinical conditions addressed by these guidelines include asthma, bronchiolitis, febrile infant, multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C), diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and skin and soft tissue infections. The robust platform also provides guidelines for other medical specialty areas across the ambulatory, emergency, and inpatient care settings. In addition to detailed care guidelines, Avos analytics provide clinicians at Children’s Minnesota with valuable clinical and quality insights.
“As the kid experts, Children’s Minnesota is always searching for the most effective and efficient clinical and technological resources to deliver the highest level of quality care to our patients and families. Avo has enhanced our clinicians’ ability to access evidence-based clinical guidelines with the tap of a finger at the point-of-care,” said Dr. Gabrielle Hester, medical director of quality improvement at Children’s Minnesota. “This cutting-edge platform gives our providers scientifically-backed clinical guidelines and also more time to focus on what they do best – help kids.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Children’s Minnesota to provide a trusted and effective resource for their world-class pediatric clinicians,” said Dr. Yair Saperstein, CEO of Avo. “In a profession where seconds matter, Avo is designed to give clinicians the best clinical guidelines available at the point-of-care faster and more efficiently.”
With the completion of this successful pilot, Children’s Minnesota and Avo are expanding their partnership to include both mobile and web access to the app. Children’s Minnesota will add content across additional areas, including primary care and mental health. All of the Children’s Minnesota pathways will be hosted on the Avo library marketplace for purchase by other interested healthcare organizations.
